Medeber Teatro

Medeber Teatro is a platform for research, pedagogy, and multidisciplinary artistic creation rooted in political and activist theatre. We conceive theatre as a space of dialogue, shared authorship, and collective imagination, engaging audiences on and beyond the stage through poetic action understood as poiesis. The name Medeber, inspired by a market in Asmara where discarded objects are collectively reimagined, reflects our approach: bodies in dialogue transforming material and meaning together. Grounded in theatre and theatrical anthropology, our work explores the interrelation of body, time, and space. Since 2023, we have shifted from participation to authorship, recognising audiences as co-creators of meaning.
