European Alternatives works to promote democracy, equality and culture beyond the nation-state and imagine, demand and enact alternatives for a viable future. A transnational ngo operating since 2007, European Alternatives has built methodological expertise in 5 key areas of direct political arts & cultutral events, research & independent media, campaigns & advocacy, democracy & people assemblies, and, trainings & facilitation. European Alternatives works on a wide range of topics to build towards a equal europe & society, current focuses include building feminist & anti-racist networks, policy for migrant rights, promoting digital democracy & ethical AI, rights of nature & water through the arts, and, fighting for independent media. EA runs many public activities throughout the year, with TRANSEUROPA as its annual flagship event, an arts-politics-cultutral festival changing city each year & working in collaboration with local organisations.
