Hangar Piemonte

Hangar Piemonte operates as a regional public agency supporting cultural organisations, networks and territorial actors engaged in processes of cultural transformation. Its action is oriented toward strengthening organisational capacities, fostering collaborative governance models and enabling culture-led development strategies capable of generating social, environmental and economic value at territorial level.  Hangar was created in response to the increasing complexity faced by cultural actors operating within territories characterised by social, economic and environmental fragilities. Traditional project-based or funding-oriented tools were insufficient to address the need for long-term capacity building, ecosystem development and sustainable governance models. Hangar was founded in 2014 with the aim of promoting the growth and advancement of the cultural and creative ecosystem in Piedmont. This initiative is a project of the Piedmont Region and is carried out by the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo. In 2022, Hangar becomes an agency for cultural transformations. Through engaging in dialogue with individuals, organizations, and cultural, artistic, economic, and social ecosystems, Hangar researches and envisions new possibilities while experimenting with innovative tools to take action and support cultural transformations in various locations and territories. Within this context, Hangar positions itself as an enabling infrastructure, supporting cultural organisations and public actors in navigating complexity, strengthening networks and aligning cultural action with broader territorial development trajectories.  Hangar Piemonte, as an agency for cultural transformation, shares research questions and trajectories while questioning the complexity and cultural values that underpin our work. Through dialogue and collaboration with a range of individuals and groups, including those involved in the economic, cultural, and social fields that are interested in, or have already implemented and live the processes of cultural transformation, Hangar Piemonte seeks to build meaningful alliances that bring value and substance to their cultural transformation projects.
