Last week, on September 2nd, Reset! network, alongside European network Live DMA, French union the Syndicat des Musiques Actuelles, and MEP Emma Rafowicz, hosted an event at the European Parliament gathering representatives from music, media, journalism, publishing, independent cinema, European institutions, and competition authorities.
Together, we discussed how growing ownership concentration affects cultural diversity, artistic and editorial independence, access to culture, and ultimately political pluralism.
Following the event, we are issuing the Statement "From Mapping Who Owns What in Live Music to European Action", setting out the main political messages emerging from the discussion and calling for stronger European safeguards against concentration in cultural sectors.
