GERADOR
GERADOR is a non-profit platform for culture, journalism and education, based in Lisbon, Portugal. It was created in 2014, and, since then, it has developed a wide range of projects, from cultural events, to independent research, investigative journalism and training programs. Gerador's mission is to provide its audiences with the tools to become more active, informed, and creative citizens. Through our work, and by focusing on topics such as inequality, social justice, environment and sustainability, migration issues, women’s rights and LGBTQI+ rights, the organization seeks to break down barriers and widen access to information, culture, and education for everyone, every day. Gerador practices slow journalism as a counterpoint to the urgency of the times that surround us, publishing a biannual magazine and making use of digital media through our website and social networks to make information accessible and captivating. Academia Gerador is the educational arm of the organization, offering a range of courses and workshops that inspire creativity and encourage critical thinking. Gerador currently has more than 25 training courses throughout the year, aiming to provide a space for individuals to grow both personally and professionally. At the same time, Academia Gerador conducts research studies, such as the Culture Barometer (2018-2023), to contribute to a better understanding of society. Gerador has a solid track record in the creation and implementation of multiple cultural events, ranging from concerts, to festivals, summits and exhibitions. With our commitment to slow journalism, education, and cultural initiatives, we work towards contributing to a society that is more informed and better equipped to positively influence the world.
