Reset! at Paris Electronic Week 2025

Beyond being mere broadcasting platforms, independent web radio stations are also spaces for fostering emerging musical cultures, supporting artists, labels and collectives, and offering a vital alternative to more traditional channels. They embody free, creative and unifying spaces, where new scenes and new ways of listening to music are being invented.
Yet these practitioners, who champion a model of independence, are currently in the minority and in a precarious position, threatened by an unfavourable economic climate and, at times, even by geopolitical tensions that jeopardise their professional survival. Added to this is a virtually non-existent business model: little revenue from streaming, a lack of structured support, and a reliance on one-off funding.
This raises the question of the business model: how can they ensure the long-term viability of their work whilst preserving the original values of their project? How can they continue to exist without succumbing to commercial pressures? Is diversifying their activities a viable way to overcome these difficulties?
For this event, we have invited four web radio stations to share their experiences of building a coherent and sustainable artistic project, designed with the specific challenges of their respective local scenes in mind.
