ALMARE
ALMARE is an organisation that focuses on contemporary practices that use sound as an expressive medium. ALMARE develops cultural projects, organises concerts, exhibitions, talks, workshops, produces podcasts and other sound-based works. ALMARE explores the notion of listening and the way it influences social and political dynamics, cross-cutting the fields of music and live performance, contemporary art and theory-based research, engaging in frequent dialogues with cinema, literature and social practices. ALMARE's initiatives embrace a strongly inclusive perspective, with the aim of conveying a wide range of often complex content to transversal and not necessarily specialised audiences. In 2021, ALMARE co-founded the Turin-based network project dedicated to live performance The Listeners, of which actually it is a member together with Metamorfosi Notturne and Cripta 747. The Listeners is supported by the Ministry of Culture under the FNSV, Fondazione CSP and Fondazione CRT. ALMARE's projects focus mainly on the local area, but also include several initiatives spread across the national territory and internationally.
